The conference is an international meeting of the society, and students from around the world participated in the research poster competition.

In his poster, "Tribo-electrochemical Characterization of Copper with Patterned Geometry," Joo discussed the mechanisms of materials removal during a process used to fabricate integrated circuits. His work not only helps the semiconductor industry to increase yield of chips fabrication, but also contributes to fundamental understanding in roles of meta-stable surfaces in manufacturing.
