The workshop is slated for April 27 and 28.

Stroustrup, who is a distinguished professor in the department, and holder of the College of Engineering Chair in Computer Science, is the designer and original implementer of C++. He also took an active role in the creation of the ANSI/ISO standard for C++ and continues to work on the maintenance and revision of that standard.

Over the last decade, C++ has become the most widely used language supporting object-oriented programming by making abstraction techniques affordable and manageable for mainstream projects.

The celebration of Stroustrup’s career will include an opening reception on April 26, technical presentations on the 27th and 28th and a banquet that will include reminiscences about Stroustrup on the evening of the 27th.

Due to space limitations, registration is by invitation only. Individuals who would like to be invited should email bjarnefest@cse.tamu.edu.
