Transportation engineering students to compete in Jeopardy!-style game

Transportation engineering and planning students from the Zachry Department of Civil Engineering will compete at the ITE Collegiate Traffic Bowl during the 2011 Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Annual Meeting and Exhibit.

The competition will be from 10 noon Tuesday (Aug. 16) at the America’s Center in St. Louis.

The 2011 ITE Collegiate Traffic Bowl is a competition similar to the TV game shows such as the College Bowl or Jeopardy! but with transportation planning and engineering topics for the clues, questions and answers.

Student teams from 58 universities in the U.S. and Canada competed in section and district-level events for a chance to compete in the Grand Championship. More than 175 student members of ITE comprised the teams.

ITE is an international educational and scientific association of transportation professionals who are responsible for meeting mobility and safety needs.
