Vote for Aggie video to win GoAbroad Innovation Award

Building a Future, a video by Andrew (Drew) Paton, senior industrial distribution major, has been nominated for the national GoAbroad Innovation Award for Student Videos.

Paton's film captures the moving experience he and fellow Aggie Men's Club members had during a Spring 2011 volunteer program with Building a Future (BAF) in Honduras.

Building a Future is a nonprofit, philanthropic organization started in 2004 by a group of Texas A&M students. They were inspired to do become leaders in providing educational support for impoverished children in Honduras. The idea for BAF started through the Aggies participation in the Academy for Future International Leaders, then developed into an organized effort supported by Texas A&M University and the Borlaug Institute. BAF directors, partners and supporters are working together to implement new projects to help other underprivileged children and communities in Honduras.

The winner of the Innovation award will be determined by popular vote. The voting period will close on May 31.

You can vote for Drew Paton and Building a Future online now athttp://blog.goabroad.com/2011/05/15/choose-winner-2011-goabroad-innovative-student-video-poll/.

The winner of this category will be announced at the GoAbroad reception June 2 during the upcoming NAFSA: Association of International Educators Annual Conference and will be posted to the GoAbroad blog.

GoAbroad created the category to honor unique student videos of abroad experiences that inspire others to Go Abroad! This is another opportunity to demonstrate the commitment Texas A&M students have to service and leadership.
