Petroleum engineering, RPSEA to co-host clean energy symposium Nov. 18

The Harold Vance Department of Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University and the Research Partnership to Secure Energy for America (RPSEA) will host a forum Nov. 18 at the College Station Hilton Hotel and Conference Center.The forum will focus on natural gas, wind and solar as a clean energy package and aims to promote research and development in unconventional gas assessment around the world and developing a business model for a clean energy package, said Dr. Stephen A. Holditch, head of petroleum engineering and chairman of the RPSEA board.Speakers include Holditch; Melanie Kenderdine, executive director of the MIT Energy Initiative; Bo Hesselbaek, director of Power Plant R&D at Vestas Technology R&D Americas Inc.; and Oklahoma's secretary of energy, Robert Wegener.There is no cost to attend the symposium.
