International Nuclear Energy Academy elects Poston

Dr. John Poston, professor in the Department of Nuclear Engineering at Texas A&M University, has been elected to the membership of the International Nuclear Academy (INEA).Dr. John PostonINEA is an honor society of the international nuclear scientific and engineering community. The objective of the INEA is to foster the development and utilization of the peaceful application of nuclear energy in a safe and economic manner throughout the world. The organization conducts studies and discussions, and develops recommendations for the international nuclear community on generic issues relevant to nuclear energy matters.Active membership is limited to 100. Fellow INEA member Paulo Barretto nominated Poston. Barretto is currently a research scientist with the Nuclear Security Science and Policy Institute.INEA is "virtual organization" that meets only two times annually with most of its work completed via correspondence with its members.Poston is a member of multiple professional organizations and is a fellow of the Health Physics Society, American Nuclear Society and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He has been at Texas A&M University since 1985.
