Biomedical engineering's Fernandez named Adviser of the Year

Dr. Fidel FernandezDr. Fidel Fernandez, senior academic adviser in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, has been named the Recognized Student Organization Adviser of the Year for 2009-2010 by Texas A&M University's Department of Student Activities.Fernandez serves as an academic adviser, with assistant professor Dr. Kenith Meissner, for Alpha Eta Mu Beta, the national Biomedical Engineering Honor Society.According to his nomination: "Dr. Fernandez is a role model for every person who knows him, regardless of their age, profession, or position."The Texas A&M chapter of Alpha Eta Mu Beta serves to bring into closer union and to mark in an outstanding manner the biomedical engineers at Texas A&M, who by their scholastic achievements in college, have manifested a deep interest and marked ability in their chosen life work.
