Kim elected ASME Fellow

Dr. Won-jong Kim, a faculty member in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University, has been elected a Fellow by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.Dr. Won-jong KimKim is an associate professor and holder of the Dietz Career Development Professorship II.Kim joined the Texas A&M Engineering faculty in September 2000. He earned a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from Seoul National University and his doctorate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.During Kim's three-year career in industry after receiving his Ph.D. and while at Texas A&M, he has been the principal investigator for research programs sponsored by the National Science Foundation, Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, and Carl Zeiss.He received three full-utility patents on precision positioning systems and three software copyrights. Kim is associate editor of ASME Journal of Dynamic Systems, Measurement and Control, technical editor of IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics, and a member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Control, Automation, and Systems.
