• Assistant Professor, Mechanical Engineering
Chandler Benjamin

Educational Background

  • Ph.D, Engineering Mechanics, University of Wisconsin, Madison — 2017
  • M.S., Engineering Mechanics, University of Wisconsin, Madison — 2013
  • B.S., Optical Physics, Saginaw Valley State University — 2011

Research Interests

  • Dr. Benjamin studies continuum mechanics and it’s applications to soft materials.  In particular, Dr. Benjamin is interested in the rheology of complex-fluids, polymeric fluids and the mechanical behavior of soft biological tissues.  His lab's current project involve the study of the initiation and propagation of aortic dissection and the rheological characterization of stimuli-responsive hydrogels.
