Master of Science

The requirements below pertain to students starting the program prior to Fall 2014. For students starting Fall 2014 or after, there are different requirements.

Master of Science (Thesis Option) Degree Requirements

Undergraduate or graduate leveling courses, assigned on an individual basis, as needed. (0-12 Credits)

Mathematics One mathematics course selected from MATH 311, MATH 601, or other graduate-level mathematics cours; PHYS 615, PHYS 616, CHEN 604

Note:

  • MSEN 684, 685, 691 do not count as free electives.
  • The College of Engineering stipulates that MS students with no degree plan on file will be blocked from registration after completion of 9 credit hours.
  • The master of science advisory committee must consist of three persons including at least two members of the MSEN faculty and one member outside the home department of the student's advisor.

Deadline for transfer from master of science (MS) to master of engineering (MEN)

For the fall and spring semesters, the deadline to change from MS to MEN and still be eligible to graduate in that semester will be the sixth Friday of the semester.
