A complete application package consists of the following documents. Only after all of these documents have been received with the application be considered complete and sent for review.

  1. Application – located at www.applytexas.org
  2. Application Fee – should be paid immediately after applying in order to be filtered into A&M’s electronic application system. Check, money order, or accepted credit cards
  3. Statement of Purpose – may be submitted through the ApplyTexas website or to the Office of Admissions
  4. Official Transcripts - Official transcripts must be sent directly to the Office of Admissions in a sealed envelope. Our department will not be held responsible for opening sealed transcripts that were intended for the Office of Admissions.
  5. Three (3) Letters of Recommendation – We prefer that all letters be submitted electronically through the AIS system during the application process. If your recommenders are unable to submit their letters electronically, you may mail them directly to the Office of Admissions in sealed, signed envelopes. All letters must be signed and printed on official letterhead.
  6. Official Test Scores– Please send all official test scores to Measurement and Research Services (ETS institutional code: 6003). You do not need a departmental code when sending scores.
    • The GRE test is mandatory for all students. Scores may not be older than 5 years. (International Students only) International Students are required to submit TOEFL scores or IELTS scores unless they have obtained a 4-year undergraduate degree, in its entirety, from a US institution. TOEFL or IELTS scores cannot be more than 2 years old. Per University policy, TOEFL scores must be 80 or higher (internet based score, or the paper or computer exam equivalent score), or IELTS score be 6.0 or higher. 
  7. Resume/CV – Required for PhD applicants, optional for Master’s applicants. Resume/CV may be submitted through ApplyTexas/AIS or mailed to the Office of Admissions.
