Research Lab Day is a targeted networking event and career fair hosted by the Texas A&M College of Engineering Graduate Programs and the Associate Dean for Research. The event serves as an opportunity for graduate engineering students at Texas A&M to engage with national and private laboratories with research career opportunities.

Research Labs Day is a response to the need for graduate-focused career opportunities. Currently, the College of Engineering’s major career fair is hosted by the Student Engineers’ Council (SEC) and serves both undergraduate and graduate students seeking internships, co-ops, and full-time positions. While this fair has established connections with over 450 companies and attracts 10,000 engineering students, it is typically geared towards undergraduates and there is little emphasis on research careers. The goal of Research Labs Day is to remedy that issue and serve our graduate students directly with opportunities that are relevant to them.

All labs participate in graduate panels in morning and afternoon sessions where students have the floor to ask a variety of questions. Following each panel session, lab representatives go to their respective career fair booths in the Conoco-Phillips Atrium, and participate in a networking session for approximately two hours. Students must be dressed in business professional attire and be prepared with their resumé.

When: Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2024 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Where: Chevron Rooms 297-299 and Atrium, Zachry Engineering Education Complex
