  • Each application round represents a distinct period in which you may apply, not a succession of steps in your application.
  • Students may apply to METM only once per year.
  • Your application, including all additional documents, must be received (not submitted) by the deadline posted to be considered for admission

How to Apply

Step 1 – Complete the application at www.ApplyTexas.org and pay the Application Fee.

  1. Visit http://applytexas.org
  2. Select “Texas A&M University – College Station"
  3. Select “Fall Semester (Aug-Dec) 2018”
  4. Select “Technical Management – Master of Engineering Technical Management”
  5. Neither the Statement of Purpose nor the essays found on ApplyTexas.org are required for your application. Instead, please leave them blank and complete the essays listed on the Supplemental Application found in Step 4. Essays can be uploaded along with other supporting documents at https://applicant.tamu.edu.”

Step 2 – Create your Net ID

Please wait 48 hours to receive a confirmation e-mail from Texas A&M University with your Universal Identification Number (UIN) and instructions to create your NetID and password at: https://gateway.tamu.edu

Step 3 – Submit Official College Transcript(s) from ALL schools previously attended.

  • Coursework from one college posted on the transcript of another is not acceptable.
  • College transcript(s) for dual/college credit earned in high school must be submitted.
  • All college transcripts will be evaluated, assigned credit and posted to the student record (viewable in Howdy) upon admission.
  • Paper transcripts must be mailed in a sealed school envelope.
  • Faxed, scanned, photocopied or emailed copies are not acceptable.

Step 4 – Upload your supporting documents

Using your NetID account, upload the following items at https://applicant.tamu.edu. On the menu bar, click on My Documents > Upload Documents. You can also check the status of your application in this portal.

  1. Departmental Data Sheet
    • Your first item to complete in applicant.tamu.edu is the Departmental Data Sheet in the “My App Status” section. Please click on the link and fill out the form.
  2. Complete and submit the supplemental application.
  3. Professional Resume
  4. Three Letters of Recommendation (learn more about effective letters of recommendation)
  5. Two Essay Topics (learn more about effective effective essays)
    • Topic 1 (2 pages max, double spaced) – Why are you seeking to complete a Professional METM at this stage of your career? How will your background and experiences contribute to the program? How will earning this degree help you change your future?
    • Topic 2 (1 page, double spaced) – What skillset do you have to make you successful in advancing your career? What are you lacking?

Step 5 – Proof of English Proficiency (if required)

Applicants whose native language is not English are required to submit proof of English proficiency to be eligible for review. English proficiency can be demonstrated by one of the following below:

  • TOEFL score – minimum internet-based score of 80 (Institutional code for Texas A&M University is 6003. Department codes are not needed)
  • IELTS – minimum score of 6.0 (no institutional code required, scores must be sent electronically)
  • A 4-year undergraduate degree from a US-accredited university.

Scores must sent directly from testing agency to be official. All test should be completed at least 8 weeks prior to the application deadline to ensure timely receipt and processing of results.
