CHANGING MAJORS

Change of Curriculum within the College of Engineering

  1. The student should first meet with their current departmental academic advisor and inform them of the intent to change majors.
  2. The student should then meet with the academic advisor of the department the student would like to change into.
  3. If the new department agrees to accept the student, the new department will handle the required paperwork and will officially enter the change in SIMS.

Change of Curriculum Involving Two Colleges

  1. Visit the academic advisor in the department student wishes to change into.
  2. If accepted, that department will handle the paperwork and will officially enter the change in SIMS.

Change of Curriculum Into General Academics

Students who are dissatisfied with their declared curriculum may need to change into the Department of General Academic Programs (GEST), designed for students with fewer than 60 attempted semester hours who are uncertain about their choice of major.
