Emergency Contacts

A)     If you encounter an emergency situation, call 911.

B)      If you encounter a student exhibiting concerning behavior but it is not an emergency situation, you can file a report at: http://tellsomebody.tamu.edu .  Reports can be filed anonymously if you wish.

C)      That same website contains information about other on-campus numbers that you can call if you have more specific concerns.

D)     The Student Counseling Service provides a wide range of services from crisis to routine.  In a crisis situation, students can either go by the SCS (Cain Hall room B103) during business hours, or can call the HelpLine at (979)845-2700 at other times.  For urgent or more routine cases, students can look at options listed at the Student Counseling Service webpage: http://scs.tamu.edu   This is not an avenue for you to “report” someone else, but you may wish to encourage students to take advantage of the services that SCS provides.

E)      If you are able to make the time to do so, the Student Counseling Service offers a suicide-prevention training seminar called QPR on a regular basis.  You can find more details at http://scs.tamu.edu/?q=node/126 .  If you would like this training but are unable to attend one of the open sessions, please email me – if there is sufficient interest, we can schedule a training seminar for interested Peer Teachers at a different time.
