Application Guide

You have been pre‐qualified by one of the Texas A&M Engineering Academy 2‐year partner institutions and received your unique link to the Texas A&M Engineering Academy application. Now what? This page is intended to guide you through the application and help you anticipate the required supplemental documents. The Texas A&M Engineering Academy application is due June 30. All supplemental documents must be received, not postmarked, by June 30. To help you prepare to meet the deadline, let’s get started.

  1. You receive your unique link to the Texas A&M application which will first take you to an Admissions Login page. If this is your first time entering this site, you need to select the link for First Time User Account Creation.
  2. Follow the steps to create a Login ID and PIN. If you have previously submitted an Apply Texas application to Texas A&M and received a Net ID, this is not the same as the Login ID and PIN required for this application. Don’t forget to make a note of your PIN just in case you are not able to complete and submit your application in one sitting. You will need the PIN when you return later to complete the application. If you forget your login or PIN, you will have to set up a new account and begin the application over.
  3. Next – you will be asked to Select an Application Type. Select Engineering Academy–NDS from the drop down menu.
  4. Next – you will be asked to enter your name and select an Admission Term. Select Fall 2018‐College Station for the admission term which indicates this is a program with the Texas A&M University–College Station campus beginning fall 2018.
  5. Next – you will see an application checklist. On this checklist page, you also are provided a link to email the Texas A&M University Admissions Office with any questions.
  6. Following are tips for some of the application checklist pages. On any of the pages you have the option to Return to the Checklist, Continue or select Finish Later.
    • Planned Course of Study: This is where you will select the specific Engineering Academy that you are applying for admission. You can only select one Planned Course of Study and you should only select the institution that has pre‐qualified you.
    • Previous College: You are required to list all colleges/institutions that you have attended.
  7. Once you have completed all items on the Application Checklist and you are ready to submit your application select Application is Complete from the Checklist page. Here you will be asked to read a terms of agreement statement and Agree to the Terms. Note: By selecting Agree to the Terms you are submitting your application. Once an application has been submitted, it may not be edited.
  8. You are almost there – You will now be directed to a Signature Page that also explains the next steps in the application process. READ the message so that you know what to expect. Failure to follow the instructions in this page may result in missing important information regarding your application status.

What additional documents can I expect Texas A&M to require?

First-Time-in-College Students (requirements for students without college credit or those whose only college credit was earned prior to high school graduation—i.e. dual credit, AP/IB, or early college high school):

  • Official High School Transcript (Texas A&M prefers electronic submissions by TREx, which is available only to Texas high schools. Other acceptable methods for sending transcripts are the same as those permitted for Texas A&M freshman applicants as found on the Texas A&M Admissions website.)
  • Application Fee (Great news! There is no fee incurred by the students applying to the Texas A&M Engineering Academy program.)
  • Texas A&M Residency Questionnaire
  • SAT/ACT Scores (These must be sent by the testing agency and not the high school.)
  • Bacterial Meningitis Proof of Vaccination (if admitted)
  • Final High School Transcript (if admitted)

Continuing College Students (requirements for students who have earned college credits after earning a high school diploma):

  • Official College Transcripts (Every institution the student attends—including institutions where dual credit was earned—must submit transcripts. Texas A&M prefers electronic submission by SPEEDE. Other acceptable methods for sending transcripts include electronic submissions by eSCRIP-SAFE, AVOW, and the National Student Clearinghouse or by mail as permitted for Texas A&M transfer applicants. The mailing addresses can be found on the Texas A&M Admissions website.)
