Application Requirements

Required Application Documents

Students apply to the Master of Engineering in Systems Engineering program through Apply Texas. As part of the application process, students must include the following documents:

  1. A statement of purpose explaining their reasons for applying to this interdisciplinary program
  2. GRE scores
  3. College transcripts from all educational institutions attended
  4. Resume
  5. Three letters of recommendation

Some of these materials are separate from the application and should be submitted online after Texas A&M admissions sends you a Universal Identification Number (UIN) and instructions.

Additional Guidelines

International students must demonstrate a proficiency in English that is verified by either a minimum Verbal GRE score of 146 or a composite minimum TOEFL score of 80. Furthermore, international students must take the ELPE in their first semester, preferably before classes begin. Online registration is available each semester at http://dars.tamu.edu (Data and Research Services).

Leveling Courses

Some leveling courses may be required for students who do not hold an EBET-accredited bachelor’s degree. These leveling courses are in addition to those fulfilling a student’s MEng in Engineering Systems degree plan. Some example leveling courses can include differential equations, particle statics and dynamics, and design courses.

Internal Texas A&M University Transfer

Students that have been admitted to a graduate program in a department within the college of engineering may transfer to the MEng in Systems Engineering. These students must provide a statement of purpose and meet with the assistant dean for Graduate Programs.
