What is the Zachry Leadership Program?
The Zachry Leadership Program is a joint effort between the Texas A&M University College of Engineering and Zachry Group. The purpose of this program is to further empower engineering students to become future leaders who are well-versed in our free enterprise system, collaborative in their decision-making, and humbly self-confident in their behaviors.
The five semester leadership program, commencing spring of sophomore year, is designed to provide a cohort of 32 students with a broader perspective of the world in which they will live and work. It will give them a sense for how they will fit into this world, a deeper insight into their individual potential, and a specific view of how they want to begin their professional careers. Students will practice self-reflection and will have opportunities for personal growth and self-improvement, allowing each participant to maximize his or her potential to contribute to business and society at large. The second cohort of the Zachry Leadership Program began in January 2017.
Students will earn a certificate upon completion of the program.
Is the Zachry Leadership Program right for you?
The Zachry Leadership Program is looking for candidates who are interested in developing their leadership skills and gaining broader business knowledge. Participants will have the opportunity to create strong relationships with other participants and professionals, interact with remarkable people and establish a strong foundation from which to launch their professional careers. Admitted students who have accepted a place in the program are committing to the full five semester course of study (one three-hour class each semester), including pre-semester retreats that occur the week before each new semester.
All students will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship each semester while enrolled in the program.
The selection decisions will be made in time for students to register for the appropriate spring semester leadership class. The scholarship funds will be available at the beginning of the spring semester.
